The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.04.24 - 2006/04/24 15:23 On today's show:

- Tonight is the Lennon Seance, and Garrett will be in tomorrow to talk about it.

- Kirk Cameron, a banana, and intelligent design...

- The AID for AIDS walk was yesterday, and hundreds of people showed up. Penn & Teller's team raised $17,000, which means that P&T will be matching it up to $35,000. Good luck collecting on that!

- The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence were at the AIDS walk.

- Sheep wearing blankets in the Netherlands.

- 2:19pm BREAK -

- What about blankets of homeless people? Maybe a non-starter for some companies.

- Monkey Tuesday will not be every Tuesday. Better that it pop back in intermittanly.

- CDC can quarantine anyone who looks like they have bird flu. Looks kinda like Steve Buscemi.

- Irani women can attend soccer matches. No soccer hooliganism yet, though

- The Rolling Stones have a suite booked in Vienna in June. The US President will be in Vienna at the same time, and wants their suites. Not bloodly likely.

- Neil Young has a new album out Living With War

- http://www.bumvertising.com/ beat them to the punch.

- 2:34pm BREAK -

- gmail from Jennifer: Show about Houdini on the History Channel. Teller was on, and talking, but not showing his face while talking. Turns out, it's Penn's fault they did that. In case you didn't know, Teller has been silent during his act, the frat boys would pay attention while he worked. And he's continued that to this day. But after the Rio show, he will speak with people in the lobby.

- "And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They'd probably put my head in a guillotine
But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only." - Penn, quoting Dylan's It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

- 2:54pm END -

In the first minute, when the guy quotes a "TV Guide" poll stating that 96% of people believe in god. Ah yes, TV Guide, my favorite scientific journal!

Oh man, when that guy first peeled the banana, and was talking about the shape, and how it was curved for easy entry.... I was sure he was going to deep throat it. What a tease!

Edit: And then that great example at the end to "catch" atheists, like you catch a fish on a hook. Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Damnit I just watched that whole vidoe. That was the single most annoying F****** thing I've ever heard. I tried to keep track of the numer of logical fallicies that they made but it was just too many. They say that saying "there is no god" is an absolute statement and show how that is bad but don't stop to think *duh* that saying "there is a god" is also an absolute statement.

SHOW ME YOUR GOD GOLD MOTHERF******

Then they give the instruction in this athiest conversion training video to shift from wishy-washy logical arguments(building is to buildder as creation is to what) to moral ones (ten commandment etc.) Real convincing....(NOT) I guess you only have to show a little "evidence" then scare them with stories of damnation.

edit: Taking all bets for the 'when is the podcast going to be released' pool. does anyone else think they are doing this on pourpose, mabey they are waiting untill the evening rebroadcast.

That would make me sad

Re:The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.04.24 - 2006/04/24 23:36 "There is no god" is an absolute statement which apparently is bad and means that there is no such thing as an atheist so I guess the absolute statement "there is a god" is also wrong and means there's no such thing as a real believer. We're all agnostics! Thanks for clearing that up, Kirk.

Re:The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.04.24 - 2006/04/25 06:01 I sent him that Kirk Cameron video ages back. I wondered when he'd get round to talking about it. That whole thing with the banana was just superb.

Re:The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.04.24 - 2006/04/25 14:48 I've have now watched one single episode of that show and I is funny just how many times they say with certainty that you are damned to hell because you don't do exactly what they say. Comic gold!

Glad you like 'em, JoMadge. I sure do appreciate you capturing all those P&T video goodies.

Sorry I missed the show yesterday , but I should have my "professional" recap up this evening sometime.

And hopefully people realized that we just a couple of hiccups today, and the site is back up, and ready for all sorts of great posts now.

Also, just to reiterate what I said in the April 26 show's post, I won't be able to do any work on the daily updates next week, so if someone (or a few people) could take over for me temporarily, that would be fantastic.
