the special was on tonight, and i must say, i would've really have enjoyed it... if David Blaine didn't do it.
it's funny... when i first watched it years ago, i was amazed and saw real magic. now, after familirizing myself with magic, i see gimicked coins, simple card manipulations, and cheap camera tricks.
I am an amature magician right now, and probably a good 90% of the tricks, i have performed for people. But that's not what bothers me, because i use the same tricks to get great reactions, because they're simple and very effective.
It's been about 5 years since i first saw it, and i truely forgot how retarted David Blaine sounds... he sounds like the slow kid i went to high school with. i wanted to stab my ears everytime he talked. plus he's a godawful actor. that is what bugged the hell out of me.
other than that... it was a good special.
