Good books you might recommend? - 2007/11/05 16:23 Hi all. This is my 1st post here and I'm really looking forward to conversing w/ you all. Living here in GA(the bible belt of the south) it's very hard to have any type of discussion about being agnostic, a skeptic, atheist, you name it w/o being looked at like the anti-christ. So when I listened to Penn the other night on Glen Back's show I thought hopefully he had some type of info I could check out. Sure enough her it is. Anyway, I saw the list of books towards the bottom of the page and wondered could any of you recommend any of them in particular as far as agnostism and/or atheism. I have already read the god delusion and atheist universe; both which were great reads IMO. Anymore? Thanks again and good to be here.

Re:Good books you might recommend? - 2007/11/05 16:43 Any of Freedomain's books are excellent, especially since they discuss atheism from a philosophical standpoint:

Re:Good books you might recommend? - 2007/11/07 14:46 A C Grayling's "Against All Gods" is short and sweet but definitely worth a look.

Hitchen's "God Is Not Great" is good for a laugh too.

The best one for you may be Sam Harris's "Letter to a Christian Nation"

there is no possible use for a signature* except to demonstrate how funny/geeky/cynical/pathetic you are.
