The National Post’s Jonathan Chevreau says How to Cheat Your Friends at Poker is very important and a must read.
An appendix shows 10 ways honest card players can avoid being cheated. Richard then shows how all the measures can be circumvented by a determined grifter — the official slang for a poker cheat, according to the book’s useful glossary.
Given poker’s immense popularity, Richard says it’s easier than ever to make a six-figure annual income cheating at poker. And of course, since he’s a multi-dimensional cheat, that income is not declared to tax collectors.
Would the world be a better place had this book never been published? If you’re a naive soul who doesn’t believe “friends” like this exist, it is a wake-up call. They do indeed exist — in business, investments, poker and most walks of life.
