Exorcism - 2007/04/20 04:18 Haven't seen the show yet. But when Christians biatch about abortions and Islam, they are rather silent about this kind of abuse. How many children have died or been seriously injured because of an exorcism?

Children have been injured or killed during exorcisms? That wasn't covered in the episode... do you have any links relating to this?

I was glad to see that P&T covered the myth of Satanic Ritual Abuse though. That's one messed up subject, a lot more can be said about it. Just read more in-depth about the McMartin case:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/ra_mcmar.htm

Reading through that you just alternate between fits of anger, frustration, and depression. It's fucked up as hell.

I once wrote in to correct Penn when he said that Satanists believe in the same stuff as Christians, they've just chosen a different side. I'm glad to see that he's done the research on that now.

Re:Exorcism - 2007/04/20 15:45 I'm delighted that they covered suppressed memory therapy in this episode. One of my sisters went through it and came out believing some nasty things about my parents, which I am dubious about, to say the least.

Re:Exorcism - 2007/04/20 17:31 Roseanne Barr believes she's an incest survivor for that same reason.

Regression therapy through hypnosis was also covered during the UFO episode, but it's worth following up on.

Re:Exorcism - 2007/04/21 22:33 I thought this would be mutch sadder show. I have seen some footage from russia where obviously mentally ill person is tied to bed posts and couple of orthodox priests throw water and other shit on her.

Same shit seems to be common on so called third world countries, where mentally ill people get treated like demons instead of proper treatment.

So people have been "seriously injured because of an exorcism" and it wasnt covered too mutch on this.

Pretty mutch same kind of thing seen on BS show s3ep13 "signs form heaven", that victim saint.

Still funny and informative show, as usually.
