Re:Peanut butter - 2007/04/01 23:54 If bacteria were in the jar, then life could flourish in the peanut butter, but, in a nutshell (get it?) it is a variation of the old "evolutionists believe life is random and comes out of nowhere... a rock will turn into a rabbit... a mousetrap will turn into a mouse!" arguments they make. so, no, peanut butter will not evolve into a higher form, but life could spring up in the jar... provided some bacteria get in there...

First problem is evolution is not a theory about the origin of life, it's a theory about the origin of species. It starts with the assumption of early life. They never quite get that, despite being told many many times evolution says nothing about the origins of life. I guess it would be too much to ask for the ID crowd to be intellectually honest.

A man in the area wanted to be a preacher, but the Southern Baptist Convention wants their preachers to have degrees. This man takes a correspondence course for a BS in divinity. He got it by reading the Bible. He applies for a Master's. Had to read it a second time. He's now working on a doctorate. Clearly, the school in unaccredited. I thought the whole thing was funny. As much as I've read that damn book, I should be pope... minus touching the boys' asses. That's not cool.
