It feels weird to NOT have Penn's daily commentary on current events. - 2007/03/13 01:41 So much crazy stuff has happened in the last couple weeks that made me think "Wow! I can't wait to hear what Penn will say abou... oh. That's right. No more Penn Radio." For instance, there was the Jesus' family tomb thing.

As great as Bullshit is (and it is great), it doesn't quite fill that "juggler nut point of view" slot that I've been used to checking each afternoon.

C'mon, Penn. Give us a blog or something.

Re:It feels weird to NOT have Penn's daily commentary on current event - 2007/03/13 02:21 A Penn Jillette blog would be awesome. Goudeau told me once that they're not technically inclined though and wouldn't know how to go about setting something like that up.

I'd definitely help Penn out if he asked though.

Re:It feels weird to NOT have Penn's daily commentary on current event - 2007/03/13 05:04 Pshh. Having a blog is the easiest thing in the world. With Blogger (and probably all the other blogging applications as well), you can just write an email to a special address you set up and it posts it to your blog instantly with the formatting intact; therefore, if they can use Gmail, they can have a blog. They might have to have somebody make it look pretty though.

Penn really should have a blog. He is a great writer and has a lot to say. And a lot of people to say it to. It would be wonderful. Those Road Penn things were, in essence, blog entries, and he has had columns on various websites. The difference is in name only.

The only thing better than a Penn blog would be a Penn + Goudeau blog. Or a Penn + Goudeau + Teller blog. That would be a dream come true.

That is pretty cool - but I think Penn might have some very specific ideas about how he wants it set up. He probably wants his own domain name and a custom design.

Most online blog communities give you some ability to edit your look, but it's usually not THAT flexible. I know he quit using MySpace, probably disillusioned by it's crappiness.

Re:It feels weird to NOT have Penn's daily commentary on current event - 2007/03/13 11:38 Penn already has blog space available to him. His Myspace page is still active, even though he no longer checks it. He could post blogs there, and just ignore the messages which ate up his time and caused him to bail to begin with.

I get the impression, (and I could just be talking out of my ass here), that Penn is a little bit conflicted about that. I believe that having a relationship with his fans is very important to Penn. So I'm guessing he feels a responsibility if he maintains a blog to keep up with all the comments and such.

But at the same time, as popular as he is it's a hard thing to do. I think that's why he had Goudeau handle all the gmail.

Even Goudeau was getting overwhelmed. In the later months of the show I didn't often get my emails responded to. Of course, I can't say that I really blame him that much for not wanting to deal with a star-struck dumbass like myself. But it goes to show that there's a definite difficulty to the whole deal.
