Fan Memorial Show? - 2007/03/06 19:51 Would anyone be interested in having a Monkey Tuesday/Pull of the Weasel and other stories podcast produced by fans?

If anyone is interested, I would volunteer to edit it together and produce it. I think some of us would get a kick out of it and maybe Penn and Goudeau would, too.

Incidentally, does anyone have a decent quality (not the podcast ass quality) copy of the show theme, monkey tuesday theme (all of them) and the pull of the weasel theme?

What do you guys think? I'm unemployed for about another month, so I've got time to put this together. It'd also give us a chance to talk about how well we loved the show and whatever other stories and ideas we've got that were never aired.

Wouldn't be too hard, you guys could just record stuff at home or work or what have you and email it to me. I could drop in all of the music, themes, et al and put it all together.

Let me know, guys!

Re:Fan Memorial Show? - 2007/03/06 21:54 I would love to do it, I have the theme of the show downloaded from the pennradio website.

I would be glad to help, I have a lot of experience with podcasts, I produce and host a weekly gaming podcast.

Re:Fan Memorial Show? - 2007/03/07 00:51 Hey, count me in!

I don't have any podcast experience, but I'm an Informatics IU major with a good chunk of know-how when it comes to IT and studio production. I'm not sure how much of that you would need, but I'm here for it if so.

And I'm also good for content/writing/ideas/calling-in/what-have-you.

One minor legality note: I'm not sure we could use the Penn Radio theme or anything from Mike Jones without his permission at the very least. And even then, we would probably have to get an "okay" from CBS as well, which I'm sure wouldn't happen. Penn is all about respecting copyrights and he would no doubt be aware of our little project, so I doubt we would get very far without having it pulled from the 'net.

Just something to think about as(if) we move forward with this.

Hey, right on! I'm an IU student but I'm taking my classes at IUPUI downtown Indy. By the way, nice to see another System Shock 2 fan!

Re:Fan Memorial Show? - 2007/03/07 02:50 I've been thinking about it and if we just stitch together far flung recordings, it just won't sound right. It's going to be completely antiseptic and awful. Maybe if a few of us got on Skype and just told stories. We could record it, pick out the best ones and go from there.

If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions, I'm open to everything. As far as copyright stuff, Thr33 of Clubs, you're very right. I normally have very little regard for copyrights, but I certainly wouldn't want to do something shitty to anyone involved with the show.

I think if we contact Jonesy and get permission it should be okay. Since he performs the themes at shows upon request and since he's good friends with Penn, I would assume that Jonesy owns the copyright to the songs. I don't believe CBS would have anything to do with it. When I get a second tomorrow I will shoot Mike Jones an email as well as start a thread about this on the official forums .

Keep the suggestions coming!

Re:Fan Memorial Show? - 2007/03/07 05:58 We can gather some subjects and news stories we want to comment on and then mark a date to talk on skype and record it.

Re:Fan Memorial Show? - 2007/03/07 11:53 I'm in. I produce a weekly podcast myself so I'm already set up for the Skypin' and the recordin' and pro-audioin' (is that even a word?). I also have two or three "pull of the weasel" stories that I never got around to submitting. So yeah, just let me know when.
