Phil vs Joe Part 2
Joe's line of argument goes like: Why did we fake the moon landings? To prove to the Soviets the USA was top dog in the cold war. Why did the Soviets report the next day the USA landed on the moon? Because the USA and Soviets are part of some grand conspiracy and we were never actually enemies.
You can see his conspiracy theory is inconsistent. Not only inconsistent but it requires some massive amount of social engineering that seem highly improbable. The guy only has a massive slippery slope to explain his whole fake moon landing position.
Yes, Werner Van Braun was a Nazi. But he was our rocket scientist Nazi, not the Soviets. I think Phil should have just conceded this point and go "So what? He was the best rocket guy on the face of the earth... we're not going to use him?" (Goudeau jumped in with that, fortunately.)
Rogan failed to get Phil's argument about the laser reflectors. On a device like that, the engineers would never be so compartmentalized. They'd all pretty much be involved on the whole device. They'd all be sitting down at planning meetings, update meetings, etc. For a device that was basically open to the public (anyone can bounce a laser off the reflector if you have the desire and equipment), wouldn't the engineers get really suspicious if a little innocuous reflector device had some kind of highly secret protocol? Phil's argument was brilliant.
Okay sure there were numerous super secret robotic sample return missions to collect moon rocks. But why has no one ever came forward? Wouldn't the Soviets (assuming they're not part of Joe's CFR/Trilat/Knights Templar grand encompassing conspiracy) have revealed America has a veritable train of secret rockets coming and going to the moon to get all those rocks?
Okay Van Braun was in the antarctic. A NASA site says:
Exploring Antarctica (1967) Intrigued by exploration in space and on Earth, Dr. Von Braun participated in an expedition to Antarctica. This photo was made on or about January 7, 1967. So Braun took a vacation. Yippee.
A good discuss:

Meteorites from the lunar surface do exist, and Antarctica is a good place to find them. But they are very hard to find. Apollo returned 850 lbs. (380 kg) of material. But as of the late 1990s, geologists had found only 19 such specimens. And this is the best effort of the entire international geology community.
Blows Joe's claim 100% out of the water.
