Re:Atheists reclaim the bible/God's Debris - 2006/05/02 20:00 ON jesusneverexisted.com there are articles that go into detail about why bible stories were written and what the political situation at the time was etc.. gives you a real insight into the propaganda in the Bible relevant to the time.
It's a poorly laid out website and I think I find the decent articles on the site as related links at the bottom of articles linked to from the front page.

[if it was in print at any time I should be able to find it or have it found by my usedbook palls]. Im an equal opportunity collector although history is my forte [course religion and philosiphy are just histoc footnotes,lol] so another volume is always welcome. Thanks for the link.
