I was explaining to my mother-in-law how the new testament of the bible was written hundreds of years after the "events". I was explaining how certain descriptions in the bible reference buildings that have allowed people to estimate when it was actually written.
I went on to explain that even if someone such as Jesus did exist, the accounts in the bible would be the equivelant of the writings of an uneducated person about one specific guy from medievil times.
She looked up at me with a confused look on her face and asked, "Was all this before, or after cavemen?"
At that point, I gave up.
