Re:ATTACK! - 2007/03/12 19:00 Ah, one from the "Pick a humorous quote out of context and then twist it, extrapolate it and make a load of shit up to 'prove' your point" school of journalism.

BTW Is that his real name?
there is no possible use for a signature* except to demonstrate how funny/geeky/cynical/pathetic you are.

Re:ATTACK! - 2007/03/12 19:21 That entire place is bullshit. I got an account so I could post a comment and I tried to log in. It takes you right back to the log in window. Not only are their reports bullshit, their website is, too. Surely Huffington Post is the last great bastion of unbiased REPORTING and not some goddamn pissy-ass excuse for a sewing circle. "THEY SAID THIS ON THE RADIO AND I CAN'T GRASP HUMOR! LET'S DANCE AROUND IT WITH COPIES OF AL GORE'S POWER POINT AND LISTEN TO DAVE MATTHEWS!" And of all the groups to pick on... Libertarians? We're ant shit on the political radar. I hate that we are, but it's like Mike Tyson fighting an Ethiopian. You'd think that with losing the last two presidential elections, they'd be more worried about what Republicans have up their sleeve, but, goddamn it, someone with a radio show and a valid oppinion is talking again. What kind of country do we live in where people with radio shows talk?

Re:ATTACK! - 2007/03/12 19:58 Penn's pretty cool - I think if he sees this he'll take it in stride. I don't fully agree with all of Penn's opinions myself, but I love his philosophy of "Just tell the truth as you see it and let people make up their own minds"

We could all learn from that viewpoint. People like this want to split everything into an "US VS THEM" ideological war. It's really easy to get sucked into that mindset. Much harder to actually try and listen to what the other person is saying and consider it honestly.

This guy obviously didn't want to listen to what Penn was actually saying. He just wanted to ridicule a position that he disagreed with. It's so easy to misunderstand and take things out of context that way.

I believe that in "Bullshit!" Penn always tries to portray his opponent's arguments as honestly as he can. He doesn't pretend not to be biased but tries to be fair. That's a pretty cool thing.

But usually it's just easier to yell at people we disagree with, isn't it?

NO IT ISN'T! EAT SHIT!

I think it'd be funny if the next article was about how "Monkey Tuesday" was really code for "TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH!" or some stupid shit like that. I agree with what you said, though. Penn would probably laugh it off. If the show were still on, he probably would have commented on it. Goudeau would've made a joke. Then there'd be calls making fun of the whole thing. I miss this show, guys.

Re:ATTACK! - 2007/03/12 20:13 Wow, this is really cool - just a few minutes after making that post I decided to try out one of the new podcasts I found to help replace the void where Penn's show used to reside.

I've just listened to the first 9 minutes of the latest episode of Common Sense with Dan Carlin, and he's talking about EXACTLY the thing that I was just going on about.

Here's a link to the site:

At the moment the latest show is #85

I think I'm going to like this guy.
