Re:Identity anyone? - 2007/01/11 12:29 You know, NBC streams the complete epsiodes on their website, I watched one this way, and it is URsurprisingly quick, you just have to sit through an ad or two: http://www.nbc.com/Video/rewind/full_episodes/identity.shtml

Re:Identity anyone? - 2007/01/11 13:56 The NBC site only shows "Identity" to the US
there is no possible use for a signature* except to demonstrate how funny/geeky/cynical/pathetic you are.

Does anyone know of free proxy or anonymizer services in the US? That way us foreigners (I'm in Canuckistan) can access it.

Or, maybe some kind American can capture the streams and host them. If you need webspace, I've got plenty of that (eg, I'm one of the mirrors for this site).

Not sure if NetTransport will do the trick, or if it's gotta be done some other way...

Re:Identity anyone? - 2007/01/13 19:54 If you are using Firefox, the ProxySwitch extension could work.

Re:Identity anyone? - 2007/01/14 07:22 Well, I spent a good while trying a vast array of different US HTTP proxies, some of which did work somewhat, meaning that google.com didn't immediately redirect to google.ca, but NBC refused to load and Showtime.com still somehow knew I was not in the US. In short, don't waste your time. The networks probably wizened up when a few hundred thousand Europeans realized they didn't have to bother with BitTorrent and could just use US proxies.

This IP blocking of Canadian users is ridiculous, though, considering all US network shows are broadcast simultaneously here - I COULD have watched Identity on regular TV, but I've long since lost my ability to remember to be in front of said device at some arbitrary hour of the day. I made it to the TV on Thursday of the initial broadcast week, but my addled brain confused the time zones so I made it there an hour late. Globaltv.com shows full episodes of SOME NBC shows, but not Identity.

Global and CTV are pointless entities which prevent Canadians from watching US network web content and buying TV shows from iTunes, all for the privilege of dumbed-down evening news delivered by vapid Canadians instead of vapid Americans. Bah humbug.

Re:Identity anyone? - 2007/01/14 07:49 I found torrents of episode 1, 3, and 4, with Penns name spelled "Jilette"!

Reminds me of the ebay "scam" of buying misspelled guitars...

Right after I posted, I did go through a painful hour of trying "good" anonymous proxies, with exactly the success rate that unigolyn achieved...

101 torrent: http://tinyurl.com/yxz2jc
103: http://tinyurl.com/y36k7f
104: http://tinyurl.com/y2d5kb

105 is available, but you must be a member at bitsoup.org: http://tinyurl.com/yjseg6

I previously grabbed the 101.mp4 from this torrent and it was entirely watchable, so I expect the same from 103 and 104.

Thanks for the heads up, Lucretius.

This: http://tor.eff.org/ in combination with this: http://www.privoxy.org/ will do the trick.
