The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.05.22 - 2006/05/22 16:22 Best Show Ever

In a surprising turn, the first part of the show featured a distracted Penn - Emily was in the hospital ready to give birth. Today's show was supposed to be about Einstein and cancer vaccines.

He'd been assured that he had time to do his radio show but EZ phoned halfway through and told him to come to the hospital.

The final part of the show featured Penn, calling in from his car as he raced across Vegas, and Goudeau, in the Slammer, holding the fort.

Jonesy came on the line to ask Penn if they'd be working tonight - Penn answered (at 90mph in a pink Mini) that Jonesy may still be playing this evening as Zolten would probably be born sometime between the radio show and tonight's show. A proper "Showbiz Baby".

There were even a couple of scam calls.

can't wait for the podcast

Re:The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.05.22 - 2006/05/22 23:54 That WAS the best show! My hubbie IMed me and told me to try and listen on the computer (the connection where I teach isn't so good), but it worked today! I had a 10th grade class at the time (15 year olds), even they got in on the action and were excited for Penn and Emily!

Re:The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.05.22 - 2006/05/22 23:56 You know you are a Penniphile if...

...you get pissed at the callers that said today's show sucked, even though it probably wasn't the best show ever.

I thought it was great because you could feel Penn's nervousness and that's entertainment.

Congrats to Penn on his new arrival.

Re:The.Penn.Jillette.Radio.Show.2006.05.22 - 2007/05/18 16:20 This Penn show might be a good one to use to introduce people to the archive. It even has a few classic Penn moves, like the indignant "Listen mister, you're RIGHT and I'm WRONG", civil discussions about religious issues, and a conflict between libertarian values and saving human lives.

The topic of the show is, ostensibly, the cervical cancer vaccine. The one we're seeing ads for on TV.
