Important point missed - 2007/03/06 05:08 In all the hub bub about the last show, I think Penn revealed one of most important facts in his 14 month run....YOU CAN BUY A RING THAT MAKES ALL KINDS OF CRAZY EXCELLENT SPARKS. All for $10!

What was the name of that ring again?

A funken something? How did I get to be age 40 and never encounter this remarkable device?

I mean people who work at computer stores often are unaware of common computer terms, so I don't see why a magic shop would be better..

Re:Important point missed - 2007/03/07 08:59 Well, to complete the analogy to computer stores (coughbestbuycough), they do know what a Funken ring is after ambling back and forth between aisles for a little while, and it IS ten bucks, but the string to attach it to your hand costs 49.95, plus they'll spend half an hour trying to sell you the extended warranty.

No commission, just sales quotas and saturation with untrained, barely above minimum wage know-nothings. But I digress.

When I asked if they carried them, the kid behind the counter said "No, but we should start carrying them. You're the third or fourth person to come in an ask for one in the last few days."

I laughed and said "yeah--i heard about it on the radio."

Looks like there are lots of Penn fans around my neck of the woods!
