BitTorrent FAQ - 2006/01/29 16:05
What is BitTorrent (BT)? BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol designed for transferring files. The key philosophy of BitTorrent is that users should upload (transmit outbound) at the same time they are downloading (receiving inbound.) In this manner, network bandwidth is utilized as efficiently as possible. Source
How do I use BT? You need to install a BT client. There are several BT clients avalible. The official one can be downloaded from here. If you're going to have more than one torrent open at a time you will probably want something more advanced like uTorrent.
I've installed the BT client now what? Find the .torrent you want (it's probably in our BitTorrent Forum). Click on the torrent to open it. Your BT client should open and ask you where you want to save the file or folder. After you select where you want to save the data bittorrent will start downloading (and uploading).
